Hurricane Michael caused an unprecedented damage to Florida's entire Gulf Coast region in October. It struck the Panhandle in a Category 4, with winds up to 155 mph. It flooded numerous counties, swept cars onto roofing and downed trees.

The Red Cross, along with government agencies and community partners, provided support and relief for thousands of victims of the hurricane. We provide food, disaster supplies and emotional support to families as they recover from this major natural disaster.

Our partners reacted quickly to the disaster and are now present in affected communities in Florida Georgia and Alabama. They are offering shelter, food and clean drinking water to victims in need.

Long-term World Vision partner organizations are providing pre-positioned supplies for hard-hit areas. Additional supplies are currently being prepared. Long-term partner organizations throughout the affected areas are also aiding in rescue efforts as well as emergency medical care.

Now more than ever, hurricane Michael victims need shelter, food and water. Your donations will help provide these vital items and so much more to people whose homes and lives have been devastated by this powerful hurricane.

The American Red Cross, as a trusted partner to local governments, has been on the ground in the affected areas since the hurricane struck. With more than 3,200 Red Cross volunteers and employees on the ground, they are ensuring that survivors receive critical assistance in their time of need.

Red Cross Panama City and local chapters have offered their assistance to individuals and families in need of temporary shelter, food, and water. They have helped more than 33,000 people with meals and distributed 169,000 aid items to those affected by the hurricane.

It is also working with the state- and local emergency operations centres to help the 11-county communities. We are also working with local and state emergency officials to devise a comprehensive plan for relief that includes prepared meals for emergencies, distribution capabilities, as well as statewide partners.

Our partners respond to the immediate needs of Hurricane Michael victims and are present in affected communities in Florida and Georgia. They offer shelter and food to those who are most in need.

Those in need can make a cash donation to the Hurricane Michael Disaster Fund on GlobalGiving, and your gift will help survivors and fuel community-led recovery.

It is not easy to choose the right knife for you. There are so many companies that claim to have the best knives.

But which one is really the best? Which one is the best?

First, consider what type of tasks your knife will perform.

Do you want to chop wood, skin animals, slice bread or chop vegetables?

Your knife is it intended for hunting, fishing, or both? Is it intended for camping cooking, or kitchen cutting?

Do you intend to use it for opening bottles and cans? Do you plan to open boxes or packages?

Are you able to carry heavy loads with your knife?

How about cleaning it after each use? Is it something that you will be doing often?

They keep their blades clean and sharpen them regularly.

You want it to feel right in your hands when you purchase a knife. You should feel at ease with the knife in your hands.

You should not notice any marks on the handle.

If you find any flaws in the knife, contact the seller to have them fixed. Do not accept a knife that does not feel right in your hands.

What is the difference in a fixed-blade and a folding knife?

Folding knives can be folded compactly so they fit in a backpack or pocket. When not in usage, the blade folds down.

Fixed-bladed knives can be used during normal use. They are usually longer than folding knives.

Fixed-blade knives can be more durable, but they are less portable.
